I never knew about these parrots -- or that they're native in Florida! Living further north than you, I find that amazing! I'd love to hear them sing :-)

Such cute birds...I lived in Florida for 7 years and never saw one in the palms....all I ever saw was snakes and gators....Main reason why we moved farther North! Sue.

I am glad you love those parrots. We call the Monk parakeets here & the local story is that they escaped from a pet shop owner & just kept multiplying. They build their nest in all the transformers here. Sent all the PETA people crazy here last year when the local electric co. had to remove many of the nests because of the damage they were causing. They are very noisy though so I am glad none have decided to take up residence in our neighborhood. I prefer to enjoy them in small doses. =-) I came over from your husbands site. Ours is the house in CT that he is working on. I have been wanting to ask for details on how you painted that piano. We got one off freecycle last year & I have been looking at it just wondering how difficult it would be to paint or restain. I would love to hear how you did yours!

How cool is that! I would be one of the tourists stopping dead to look at the parrots. I had no idea parrots could live anywhere but rain forests and bird cages! You learn something new every day!
