When I heard that Julia at Hooked on Houses was doing a “Hooked On” themed carnival, I looked over to my husband and asked “what am I hooked on?”
Shoes!, he said. More specifically, Flip Flops! I consider the freedom of going barefoot one of the top perks of living in Florida. However, on occassion I have to get dressed up. Maybe a trip to the store for example. When that happens I have to make a choice, which flips to flop?

Now this is not an easy choice. I must have at least twenty pairs in current use. I’ve shown a couple here, but this isn’t all of them. Some of my favorites were so worn out I was just too embarrased to show them on my post. Afraid the dirty shoes division of the FBI might show up looking for me.
My new favorite, though, and I think I’m going to be really hooked on these, are the first photo at the top of the post. I just got these today and I can’t wait to wear them!

Anyway, I could go on and on! Isn’t that sad? Hi, my name is Kim, and I’m hooked on Flip Flops!
Thanks to Julia at Hooked on Houses for doing “Hooked On Friday” and giving me a great excuse to write about my shoes.
Don’t forget to sign up for our Calgon, Take me Away! gift basket giveaway!
Starting next Tuesday, we’ll be doing a weekly blog party of our own. It’s going to be called the “Tasty Tuesday Parade of Food” ! We’ll round up everyone’s recipies, favorite places to eat, or anything related to good food. I need all the help I can get coming up with enough meal ideas for the three big eaters in my crew!

Wow, Kim, are you on the ball with this! I just posted Mr Linky about five seconds ago.
I have more than my share of flip-flops, too. They’re just sooo comfy. I love Rocket Dog flip-flops with arch support and I’m always sad when the weather gets too cold here in Ohio to wear them any more.
Thanks for joining the party! Your Tasty Tuesday sounds yummy.
i got married on the beach in florida – wearing flip flops (my something blue).
i still have them.
Especially in the middle of winter, what a fun choice for Hooked on Fridays. Summer is a long way off, but some of our passions know no seasons! ~Arleen
Great. Now I have to have some, too.
Do you have fab toes, all painted up cute all the time? I think that’s why I steer away from flip flops. I don’t feel like bending down to paint my toes. There’s…you know, twittering to do and all that. But now that you’ve shown me those really really cute ones at the top, it might be worth a bendover after all.

p.s. Thanks for visiting my blog earlier this week!
Wear them too in the summer…, and have several pairs…, for the home, the beach, to go for a walk, and to go out in the evening too.
Ohhhhh flip-flops, sand, summer and heat! I miss them all! Those are good things to be Hooked on
Hi Kim, thanks so much for stopping by the Back Porch. I have to admit, shoes are a passion of mine, also. I have lots of flip flops! What would I do without them!!
Wonderful Hooked on Friday post!
I love shoes~sandals~too!
What fun! Buying flip-flops in January. Now there is a compelling reason to live in Florida. Even in California, flip-flops won’t be in stores for at least another month or so!
I adore your most recent find. Anything that already has a bit of a “worn” look gets two thumbs up in my book.
Looking forward to reading all of your delicious inspirations come next Tuesday. Will you be featuring any local Latin flavor? I can only dream…

My DH hates me to wear flip flops, so I usually buy one pair for the season and get rid of them. This year, he says he’s buying me a nice pair of flip flops…so hey, nice shoes. Who am I to complain.
But oh yea, I love shoes too.
And hey! HOW BOUT THOSE GATORS. WHOOOOOO TIM TEBOW.
Now I will admit I’m on OK, born and raised. But I LOVE Tim Tebow. Just posted on the Gator’s win and especially Tebow.
Kim .. what a great thing to be hooked on. I love them too! Thank goodness I can wear them year round like you. Isn’t it grand to have nice warm weather! Got my fav Yellow box flops on right now.
CONGRATS GATORS!!!! We were so happy bout their win!
There’s nothing quite like having open toes in the summer! I grew up in south FL and remember getting to wear those gems year round!
Beautiful post, beautiful shoes ~ ENJOY!
Blessings – Debbie
I found you through Hooked on Houses. Great flip flop collection. I especially love the last pair! I long for the wonderful warm days to wear them here in the Northeast. I’m going to put your site on my feed reader. I can’t wait until you start your Tasty Tuesday blog party!
Oh how I long to wear my flip flops again. My spring fever is really kicking in. I’m glad I’m not alone in my love of very causal footwear. Oh and thanks for visiting my blog!!
I love my flip flops too! Unfortunately, here in N. Illinois, we are expecting 8 inches of snow…no flip flop wearing for me. Luckily, I also love BOOTS!
I love it when summer comes along because that’s when I get to pull out my beloved flip flops! Love them! You’ve got some great ones.
Thanks for stopping in at my blog!
You have a lot of flip flops! LOL! I don’t even own a pair because I hate my feet.
I love wearing flip flops! When it gets warm enough…. Love yours. You have a very nice selection there.
I thought my daughter was the only person I knew that was hooked on flip flops, she must have 15 or 20 pair.A pair for everything she wears. But now I see there is another person besides here.I like flip flops sometimes but not all the time.My daughter even wears them when it is cool out doors.
I came over from Julia’s – I’m hooked on sandals, so I know the feeling! Cute post!
I love flip flops too – - – only not THIS time of year in INDIANA!!!
BTW – - – to our grandchildren hubby and I are Papoo and Kamma (That was how they first pronounced Grandpa and Grandma, and it just stuck) Our grandchildren are Piper (the baby), Mackinley, and Kaeleigh. So when you said something on my blog about Kamma on the blankie – - – that wouldn’t really be me!!!! Hehehehehehehehehehehehehe
Thanks for visiting my little corner of blog world.
Oh I see people at Disney wearing Flip Flops…..I wonder how can they be comfortable. Are they comfy for all day walking?
Love the blog by the way.
LOL at dirty shoes division of the FBI!
I say if you live in Florida, then there is no reason for you not to be addicted to flip flops! And I love the idea of Tasty Tuesday! I’m going to try my very best to join in.
Let me just say, I’d love to be wearing a pair of flip flops at the beach in Florida right about now!
Thanks for visiting my blog.
Thanks for sharing your collection of flip flops! I may have one pair somewhere. We don’t get to wear those much here in the Pacific Northwest!
.
By the way, I’ve tagged your blog, Kim. Visit mine for the rules
That’s exactly what I would need right now, lol we have snow !!
I love going barefoot and I love sandals- but I can not wear flip flops- the thing in between my toe freaks me out. I love them though- and buy every cute pair I lay eyes on for my girls- between the four of them, we easily have well over a hundred pairs each summer.
Oh this post is so perfect for me to read today! You see, I love to go barefoot. I grew up on a farm and unless it was really cold we kids went barefoot all the time.
Now a days being the grown up, uhm, yeah, anyway adult, non farm person that I am I find that barefoot is no longer the most acceptable way to go. I really don’t like shoes – maybe my feet are shaped funny or maybe they are just distorted from never wearing shoes?
We are waiting now to hear if DH is being transferred from our ever changing midwest weather to FLORIDA. Now never having been to Florida, or anywhere even close, this move is pretty scary. I have my “pro” and “con” list and so far, the practical considerations (mostly financial) are huge on the pro side. The personal ones are scattered pretty evenly on both lists. You’ve just given me a pro – no more snow boots, rain boots, heavy winter socks and parkas! With 5 kids (we have 7 but 2 are adults and on their own) that’s a huge savings in terms of purchasing them and storing them every year.
Think of all the extra closet space we would have.
I could have a nice flip flop collection that would take up far less room than my current coat collection. And it would almost be like going barefoot.
have you tried the croc flip flops, my favorite!!!
I took the curtains out of the cabinet, let me know what you think.
Ummmm you might be a teeny bit hooked on them…thats a ton of flip flops!!!

Oh my you do have a lot of flipflops. Oh I wish I could blow away the snow and wear flipflops today too. I do like them too…nice and easy to slip into and there are so many pretty ones these days.
Enjoy your new ones!
