I agree – music is wonderful! To me, it’s the best thing about the whole Christmas season. It is so wonderful to see your son playing, and playing for your friend especially. If I get to be her age, I would feel incredibly blessed to have such entertainment! Have a wonderful time on your trip; I’m envious!

I should have commented here earlier today too.

This post brought back memories. My mom passed away early this fall with congestive heart failure caused by over 53 years of rheumatoid arthritis. The summer was a long one of watching her dwindle away before our eyes. One Sunday when we had all gathered in, mom was alert enough to ask for two of her grandchildren to “perform” for her – - – it was our daughter Korie singing and my neice Misti accompanying on the flute. the song – - – Amazing Grace. They only got through one verse, and there wasn’t a dry eye. They did the same thing again, all the verses this time, for her funeral in August.

amen, kim! one thing i’m looking forward to most of all this christmas is my family getting together and playing music. it’s usually the highlight of our gatherings.

you know, that is really what christmas is all about. serving our fellow man and taking the time to really notice and visit with those folks and others. My husband is taking his sunday school class today, to the local old folks home. you’ve got good boys. i love your blog, so glad you left me a comment so i could discover you and your beautiful family.
